I live in the coastal town of Fowey in Cornwall where I have developed my own studio ‘Three Fishes Pottery’. I specialise in terracotta earthenware pottery decorated in coloured slips. I make thrown and hand built pottery using course textured terracotta with a range of slip decoration techniques, combining traditional slip trailing with brushed slips and paper resist.
The pottery is glazed with either clear or honey earthenware glaze and fired to 1120*c in an electric kiln.
I work from home for 2 days a week and I open my Pottery as part of the ‘Open Studios’ during the Fowey Arts Trail during the Fowey Festival in early May.
My work can be seen in the Ebenezer Gallery in Polperro. I was recently judged the winning Potter in the Royal Cornwall Museum’s ‘Fifty Shades of Clay’ competition and my work was on public display in the museum in Truro.
I am a member of East Cornwall Society of Artists, Cornwall Ceramics and Glass Group, and Westcountry Potters Association.
